Ive planted a few irises in my yards since I moved here two years ago. Irises are nice to look at, quite easy to plant and take care of, and the deer dont eat them. There are many variety of irises but most of what I have are standard dwarf bearded (SDB) irises. Theyre hardier and take less time to get established than their taller relatives. Calgary is in USDA zone 3 so we need hardy plants.
