My God, there are People in those Things!

Went down to Stampede Park yesterday. Thought I’ll show you some of the rides there. Needless to say, I didn’t go on any of them :-).

Indoor Plants
Wednesday July 14, 2004

Caring for indoor plants has always seemed like a science experiment to me. Do I water a plant too much? Do I water it too little? Does it get enough sun? ...

At least if you aren’t sure about how much to water, a moisture meter will help.

Speaking of science experiments, you’ve seen it done on the gardening shows on TV all the time: plants are propagated from cuttings. I got some rooting hormones yesterday

and took a few tip cuttings from my dieffenbachia. Perhaps I’ll let you know whether this actually works in real life in a few weeks!

Unknown Peony
Monday July 12, 2004

This is the only peony I have that I didn’t plant myself: it was here in my yard when I moved in. After a lot of tender loving care, it’s finally resumed a nice form. No wonder they say peonies can live for a very long time.

Here’s a close-up of one of its flowers.

Here’s a flower on another of my peonies called Dandy Dan. Pretty nice dark red, isn’t it?
